5 Can't-Miss Places in Los Cabos

Looking to add a little sunshine to your travels this year? Located at the southernmost point of the Baja California Peninsula is a stunning resort town that combines the best of Mexican culture with stunning seaside escapes.

Just a quick flight from the US will land you in a tropical paradise surrounded by brilliant blue waters. From the beaches to the desert, Los Cabos seems to have it all. To make sure you get a chance to experience all the wonder this destination has to offer, I've outlined the five things you absolutely must check out during your trip to Los Cabos. And you may be surprised that not all of these have to do with the beach!

El Arco and Playa De Amor
At the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula is the Arch of Cabo San Lucas or El Arco. The rock formation provides the most brilliant natural training venue for cliff diving. Playa De Amor is the north-facing beach on Land's End. The beach is flanked on both sides by the granite rocks from El Arco. Playa Del Amore is a cove with calm waters, but a walk to the other side of the beach will bring you to the roaring surf of the Pacific Ocean. This is a great way to enjoy the beauty of the waters of Cabo, especially since many beaches there are not swimmable.

Cabo Pulmo National Park
Home to one of only three coral reefs on the whole West coast of North America, Cabo Pulmo National Park is one of Baja California's most precious protected marine areas. The coral reef here is considered the oldest in the American Pacific and is estimated to be almost 20,000 years old.

Mission San José del Cabo Church
The most historical landmark in all of Los Cabos is the Colonial-style parish church in San José. It was originally built near the beach and was later moved further inland. In 1735, five years after the mission was founded, there was a revolt among the local Pericú culture and the missionary, Nicolás Tamaral, was sacrificed. Today you can still visit the mission's church and see the tiled mural above the door depicting the events.

San José del Cabo Art Walk
Explore the vibrant culture of Los Cabos with a trip to the art district. Gallery openings, artists in attendance sessions, and live performances are just a few of the things you can expect when you walk down the street. There are also plenty of hip wine bars and delicious farm-to-table restaurants lining the lively streets for a fun evening out on the town!

Los Cabos Marina and Whale Watching
The bustling marina is a hub for adventure seekers, foodies, and shoppers visiting Los Cabos. From the marina, you can leave on whale-watching tours, kayaking excursions, and luxury boat trips. Oceanfront eateries serving ceviche and tacos sit beside lively bars on a spacious boardwalk. The high-end boutiques and casual stores are great places to go to beat the heat!
